The European Sponsorship Association today launched its prestigious 2016 Excellence Awards, complete with an increase in open categories, from 16 to 20, so as to take into account the developments within the industry over the past 12 months. A call for judges is also open as of today, and more information can be found at the end of this release.
The Awards recognise successful sponsorship campaigns across all sectors – sport, culture, entertainment, media, community and corporate responsibility – by assessing their business objectives and campaign results. Open awards are judged from within the main categories. ESA Best of Europe is invitation only, and the ESA Sponsorship of the Year award is independently judged from winners of the 11 eligible categories.
Now in its tenth year, the ESA Excellence Awards remain the only awards to acknowledge outstanding work by sponsorship professionals across Europe.
A full list of the 2016 ESA Excellence Award categories can be found here and further information on the Awards can be found here.
The Awards Committee is once again chaired by Jackie Fast, Slingshot MD and ESA Board Member, who said “We’re in a great position to be able to build on the fantastic feedback we’ve had from the revamped 2015 Excellence Awards. This year, and due to popular demand, we’ve had to extend the open categories to 20, meaning that there’s not only greater scope for organisations to enter, but also a greater appreciation of how sponsorship is continuing to evolve year on year. I’m genuinely excited by what this year’s Awards are going to produce!”
Karen Earl, ESA Chairman, echoed those sentiments. “The ESA Excellence Awards recognise best practice within our industry, as well as representing the “gold standard” across Europe. Despite recent events, we’re still firmly committed to our European partners and members and look forward to being able to welcome their entries into this year’s Awards. I feel that the standards within our industry have never been higher, and the 2016 ESA Excellence Awards aim to reflect the high quality of work that is being produced across Europe.”
Anyone interested in becoming an ESA Excellence Awards judge should email esaoffice@sponsorship.org with the subject ‘Judge Submission’, and provide 100 words explaining why they would be a suitable choice in 2016 along with a biography. The deadline for this is midday on Friday 5th August 2016
