2025 ESA AGM – call for Board nominations – European Sponsorship Association

Sophie Morris, Chair of ESA, is inviting senior members of the sponsorship community to consider putting their names forward to stand for the position of Board Director at the forthcoming ESA AGM, to be held on Wednesday, 18 June 2025.

Being an ESA Board Director means that you can contribute towards growing the sponsorship industry, effect change and have your say in helping to influence decisions made at a senior level.

The role involves:

attending a minimum of four board meetings a year (held by virtual meeting software)
attending additional monthly Board workstream calls and
participating in one or more of ESA’s workstreams e.g. Education, Events, Marketing, Policy.

Each Board Director is assigned specific areas of responsibility, aligned with their particular industry experience.

The ESA Board should reflect the make-up of the membership – brands/sponsors, rights holders, agencies, consultants, suppliers and professional advisors.

The Board currently includes members who are based in Finland, France, Ireland, Netherlands and the UK.
The length of term of a Board Director can vary depending on the number of Board Directors that are up for re-election each year, but will usually be between four and six years.

Nominees must be full members of ESA at the time of their application.

Please note that online voting commences 3 weeks before the AGM (in this case 28 May 2025), culminating in a final in-person vote at the AGM. The result is announced at the AGM.
