Derwent is proud to announce a new partnership with Moniker Art Fair, which will see the British brand involved in hosting a packed schedule of art workshops over the course of the event.
Founded in 2010, Moniker Art Fair is a hyper-curated five-day contemporary art fair, exhibiting an international roster of the finest artists and galleries at the cutting edge of urban art and culture. The partnership was brokered by ESA member Reg&Co, the sponsorship and fundraising consultancy.
The innovative brand has chosen to align with Moniker to appeal to a whole new audience of younger artists with a worldwide reach whilst giving the next generation of artists an opportunity to discover Derwent product first hand.
As one of the worlds’ leading art materials brands, Derwent will have a presence at the festival with a branded shipping container which will give visitors the opportunity to get involved with hands-on workshops with leading professional creatives or try drop-in sessions with the materials. Information will also be available to encourage attendees to sign up to the Derwent Art Prize, the international bi-annual drawing prize with total cash prizes to the value of £12,500.
Alongside this, the world-renowned brand will be hitting the streets of South West London for Free Art Friday, where artworks are installed in unlikely places to add a colourful and creative touch to the roadside.
Nicola Shepherd, Global Marketing Director at Derwent, said:
“We are always looking for incredible events to get involved with, which allows us to discover hidden talent around the world – Moniker Art Fair is just that.
“The event is unique in its view on the world of art and there was perfect alignment with Derwent and our current focuses. We’ve always promoted and supported the next generation of artists and Moniker will help us make our mark with new talent!”
Tina Ziegler, Director of the Moniker Art Fair, said:
“Moniker Art Fair has been delighted to welcome Derwent Art Prize to the tenth-anniversary edition. The programme of workshops are a particularly unique addition to the fair creating engaging and unique drawing events. Allowing visitors to turn their own hand to technique, and to think the making of artwork as a craft to be enjoyed and respected, can only help their appreciation.
It’s wonderful then to be able to offer these workshops in collaboration with a name as prestigious as Derwent, and I’ll be excited to see the results of the fair’s workshops, and to hear from those who have been encouraged to start or continue their own artistic journey.”
You can see Derwent at Moniker Art Fair between 2-6 October at Chelsea Sorting Office. To find out more about the event and the art events/workshops scheduled please visit www.monikerartfair.com.
