Launched in 2012 to meet the needs of the industry, the ESA Diploma has attracted candidates from every sector of the industry – sponsors, rights holders, agencies, suppliers and post-graduates.
The qualification provides an in-depth overview of all aspects of modern day sponsorship best practice, illustrated by many case studies featuring highly-effective partnerships in action. Its distance learning platform enables those working full-time to study where and when convenient, fitting around their work commitments.
The course comprises six separate modules; at the end of each module, students complete two Assignment questions designed to demonstrate an understanding of the content covered. There is also a Set Brief (a long-term project) which the students receive at the start of the course and accounts for 40% of the final mark. All work is assessed and marked by a cross section of industry experts, and each student receives a grade reflecting their level of overall performance. Passing the Diploma enables graduates to use the initials ‘DIP ESA’ after their names in perpetuity.
The extensive Study Notes provided are accessed via the Diploma website and are supported with a ‘live learning’ element via regular monthly seminars presented by leading industry figures, which are held (and filmed) in London, England.
The filmed seminars are hosted on the Diploma website and are available for students to view at any time, particularly useful for overseas or long-distance students who can’t attend the London-based seminars in person.
Students are assigned a mentor from their organisation who will oversee their studies, and offer guidance and support throughout the course.
