The first year of the ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate was met with universal praise, both from the graduates and the many stakeholders within the wider arts community to whom this essential learning opportunity applies. ESA is delighted to announce that enrolment is now open for its second iteration which starts on 2 September 2016.
The concept behind the Certificate is similar to ESA’s much lauded Diploma, although the content has been finessed to incorporate learning specifically for the benefit of the arts and culture community. The course consists of study notes which are available via a distance learning platform and a series of live seminars which are filmed and available via the course website. This structure enables students to undertake the course from any geographic location.
The ultimate aim of the course is to provide arts organisations with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure vital income via mutually-beneficial partnerships with the corporate sector. Topics covered include how sponsorship works, why it is so suited to the arts, details about all of the steps necessary to secure long-term commercial partnerships, advice about activating sponsorships successfully and many other aspects of successful sponsorship management.
