Who is the ESA Leaders Programme aimed at?
The ESA Leaders Programme is practical training, developed to support the needs of those currently in leadership roles.
The programme offers the unique opportunity to highlight and improve communication and leadership ability.
How is the programme structured?
The ESA Leaders Programme is held over two days, annually in September and October, and takes place in London 09.00 hrs–16:00 hrs.
How heavy is the workload?
The ESA Leaders Programme is designed with the knowledge that the majority of candidates are in full-time employment, so all work takes place within the two days. Minimal preparation is required – just bring to the table two examples of business goals that you would like to achieve.
When and where will the programme take place?
Each day, there will be morning and afternoon breaks, with a short break for lunch.

Leading Self, Leading Others, Managing performance and assertiveness and influencing are the backbone of this comprehensive training.
Who is the tutor?
Russell Soden is a leadership expert and trusted advisor, helping to build high performing leaders to drive profitability. He believes in leadership which fully empowers every voice in the team and growing leaders with greater self-awareness and honed communication skills.
He brings extensive sponsorship client experience across all levels of leadership and management, having worked with CSM, Fast Track (UK and UAE), JMI (UK and USA), Slingshot Sponsorship, Sports Marketing Surveys and The European Tour.
Russell has over 30 years’ international business experience in brand marketing and business development within the food and beverage, hospitality, agency, financial and pharmaceutical sectors, having held senior management positions in the Corporate, SME and self-owned business arenas – both agency and client side. Starting his career in FMCG marketing, Russell worked on major TV advertised brands, including Miller Lite, John Smiths and Kronenbourg 1664.
For the past 10 years, RSC (Russell Soden Consulting) has operated specifically in the people development space, designing and delivering bespoke learning interventions – working from Board level to front line teams in many different markets.
Who runs the programme?
The programme is run by the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) in partnership with RSC
ESA is a trade body promoting and protecting the sponsorship industry. As a membership organisation, our mission is to inspire, unite and grow the industry and we look after the interests of our members who represent all those working within sponsorship – sponsors, rights holders, professional advisors, suppliers and agencies (sponsorship, marketing, PR and events).
RSC is an established Leadership Development Consultancy – building commercial performances for its clients through the professional development of their key people. RSC has extensive experience of the Sponsorship world, having worked directly for several ESA members – both on the brand and agency sides.
