Verve GB are delighted to announce that they have been assessed and awarded the ISO 20121 Sustainability Certification for the first time, following in the footsteps of Verve Ireland who have retained the ISO for the eighth consecutive year, the only Irish agency to hold the certification.
Events and activations can take a heavy toll on resources, society and the environment, often generating significant waste. In addition to promoting more responsible consumption, this International Standard has been developed to relieve the strain on local infrastructure and utilities, reducing the potential for conflict in communities where events are hosted.
Olivia Collier, Head of Verve GB, commented: “We are thrilled to have achieved certification on our first go. It is a real testament to Verve’s commitment to responsible environmental practice. We actively seek out sustainability opportunities in creative briefs and every part of our production process and this is what brought us through the rigorous ISO audit.”
Aideen O’Neill, Head of Sustainability, Verve, added: “The ISO Management system gives us a structured approach to addressing sustainability in our work, both internally and with our client projects. It also means that we’re always looking for new ways to be more sustainable – to retain our accreditation we had to consistently demonstrate progress and innovation in our sustainability policies and ways of working.
“Being awarded the accreditation back in 2014 was, in hindsight the easy part, the real challenge is holding onto it each year and we are extremely proud to have achieved our 8th consecutive year.”
With continuous assessment and annual audits, ISO ensures Verve always works more efficiently, with a focus on how to reduce the environmental impact, raising awareness and engagement through creativity and improving the offering and value for money as an agency.
Verve wants its sustainable practices to inspire sustainable ideas.
