We are proud of our ESA Awards judges, drawn from the wider marketing industry and bringing tremendous experience to the judging process. Multi-national, last year’s judges came from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UAE, UK and USA.
The ESA Awards remains the only honour to acknowledge outstanding work by sponsorship professionals right across Europe, and, thanks to the impartiality and deep industry understanding of our judging panel, this ensures that the winners can be justifiably proud of their achievements.
Our esteemed judges bring insight, direction and robust evaluation to the judging programme. With a two-stage process of judging, being an ESA Awards judge provides you with the opportunity to witness and award some of Europe’s best sponsorship work.
The ESA Awards is now over a decade old, and we continually strive to attract the most knowledgeable sponsorship practitioners to our panel. We do this in order to ensure that all award entries, no matter whether they’re from a small agency or a large multi-national rights holder, receive the same expert critique and are judged purely on merit against a comprehensive criteria-based matrix.
Becoming an ESA Awards judge is a stimulating and rewarding experience which demonstrates your standing in the industry and allows you to take an inside look at some of the continent’s biggest sponsorship campaigns.
Winning an ESA Award really is an achievement and we welcome judges both new and old to our 2025 panel.
The deadline for 2025 ESA Awards judging applications has now closed.

With one Canadian and one British parent and growing up in Germany and the UK; I’ve been raised with an international mindset, and since 2007 I’ve been involved in sponsorship. All of which to say ESA and I have much in common.
Since 2014 I’ve been involved in some of the biggest pan-European sponsorships in football, brand partnerships of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA men’s club competitions at TEAM Marketing in Switzerland.
Before that I worked in London and Dublin managing partnerships for the likes of HSBC, Heineken, adidas, Amlin and FedEx, with roles at European Rugby and Chime Sports Marketing.
My experience is mainly in sports, but I keep a healthy interest in other domains of sponsorship. It is the versatility and increasingly multi-faceted evaluation potential of sponsorship that maintains my overall interest in the marketing discipline.
