We are proud of our ESA Awards judges, drawn from the wider marketing industry and bringing tremendous experience to the judging process. Multi-national, our judges come from Belgium, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA.
The ESA Awards remains the only honour to acknowledge outstanding work by sponsorship professionals right across Europe, and, thanks to the impartiality and deep industry understanding of our judging panel, this ensures that the winners can be justifiably proud of their achievements.
Our esteemed judges bring insight, direction and robust evaluation to the judging programme. With a two-stage process of judging, being an ESA Awards judge provides you with the opportunity to witness and award some of Europe’s best sponsorship work.
The ESA Awards is now over a decade old, and we continually strive to attract the most knowledgeable sponsorship practitioners to our panel. We do this in order to ensure that all award entries, no matter whether they’re from a small agency or a large multi-national rights holder, receive the same expert critique and are judged purely on merit against a comprehensive criteria-based matrix.
Becoming an ESA Awards judge is a stimulating and rewarding experience which demonstrates your standing in the industry and allows you to take an inside look at some of the continent’s biggest sponsorship campaigns.
Winning an ESA Award really is an achievement and we welcome judges both new and old to our 2025 panel.

Having started my career as an Army Officer, and finishing in a role in media and communications, I left to begin my adventure in the world of sponsorship, firstly by becoming a registered agent with the RFU, followed by becoming the Business Manager to Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, opening my eyes to F1 and the natural growth the sport has experienced in recent years. My challenge – to keep the oldest living F1 World Champion relevant in an era of Drive To Survive. During this time, I proudly worked alongside blue-chip brands and high performing agencies to achieve our wider aims.
I am now working at Charles Stanley looking after their sponsorship portfolio, including the partnership with Harlequins Rugby and the exciting new partnership with the National Theatre, whereby we are supporting the War Horse tour. I am passionate about sponsorship with deeper experience in sport, enhanced by my studies of an MSc in Sport Business, Management and Policy.
I’m also the number 1 supporter to my wife, Holly, an international rugby referee.
