The launch of new strategies is exciting but often proves difficult to achieve good implementation, understanding, motivation and ownership. When the Private division launched its new strategy and four aggressive goals there was a keen focus on ensuring implementation of sound knowledge of the goals and understanding by everyone`s role in achieving those goals.
Instead of traditional plenary meetings, management wished to gather everyone together with a playful event with both a professional and social focus. Events are an important way to build internal culture and pride, and this is in turn an important foundation for learning, participation, and motivation. A communal event would ensure a clear message to the employees and give them the possibility to put their efforts into the work in achieving the new goals.
A two-year strategy period (2021-22) was defined and with the result in hand, just one year later, we are pleased to document that we`ve already reached three out of the four goals.
The main objectives for the event were to:
- Increase knowledge of the new strategy and the four new goals
- Grounding the strategy and goals with the employees
- Create understanding of what will be required of every individual in their day-to-day work
- Clarify if everyone has the right tools to achieve the goals
Using the event as an implementation tool for both the new strategy and the new goals was a decisive factor in the hunt to achieve ambitious business goals.
