The ESA Introduction to Sponsorship course forms part of ESA’s professional development programme. It is a pathway course aimed at those looking to enter the sponsorship industry – either from school, college or university – or looking to transition from another professional sector or specialism.
A series of six learning modules presents a 360-degree overview of the sponsorship industry and the key disciplines within it. Each module is standalone, enabling course participants to undertake the course flexibly or in one continuous sitting (with a duration of up to 10 hours).
At the end of each module, participants complete an assessment of questions with a pass mark for each module. Once all modules have been completed and passed, the ESA Introduction to Sponsorship course certificate is awarded.
This is an inclusive and accessible course, designed to create pathways for people from a wide range of backgrounds to understand, and potentially enter the sponsorship industry. The course is particularly suited to:
- Higher and further educational establishments with relevant vocational courses. We believe that sponsorship is a relevant complement to many existing courses
- Brands – specifically for individuals who need to understand sponsorship in their day-to-day roles e.g. brand or marketing managers
- Rights holders – for new recruits working in rights-selling organisations
- Agencies – where sponsorship fits into the full communication mix.
The ESA Introduction to Sponsorship course takes participants on a journey through six modules:
- Introduction to Sponsorship
- Why Sponsorship?
- Valuing Sponsorship
- Making the Sale
- Sponsorship Activation
- Does it work?
