AIG have been sponsors of Dublin GAA (football, hurling, ladies’ football, camogie) since November 2013, one of the largest sporting organisations in Ireland. Dublin GAA boasts over 150,000 members and a fan based of 1.5 million people, making it one of the most supported and high-profile sports teams in Ireland.
AIG was tasked to make the sponsorship work harder for the business and the partnership especially after 2 challenging years during Covid 19. AIG wanted to leverage the sponsorship for the benefit of CSR and the opportunity came via the Sean Drummond Trust
For the 2022 season AIG wanted to use its marquee sponsorship asset as a cause for good to support the great work a Dublin Charitable organisation is doing to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.
Seán Drummond is a former Cuala and Dublin GAA underage player who suffered life-changing injuries in an accident in London after finishing college exams in 2019. In recognition of the challenges Sean faces in the future AIG Insurance and the Dublin GAA players committed to giving The Sean Drummond Trust a platform to take awareness of the Support4Drummo campaign to another level!
AIG gave over their jersey sponsorship of Dublin’s four senior teams, for a round of four prominent matches during the month of May (including the Men’s & Ladies Leinster Senior Football Finals), where the Support4Drummo logo replaced AIG on the front of Dublin jerseys.
