Helsinki wanted to provide city dwellers with rentable city bikes and local food shop Alepa needed a way to be present in the urban environment. This led to the provision of Finland’s first city bikes, a.k.a. Alepa bikes.
The sponsorship was extremely successful. In the Greater Helsinki region, 68% of the population recalled Alepa as the sponsor of the bikes. According to Sponsor Insight, this is the highest sponsorship awareness ever measured in
Finland.
Among Alepa bike users the buying frequency increased and users were more likely to recommend Alepa than other average shoppers. The city bikes played a significant role in Alepa’s growth.
