CSM Sport & Entertainment (CSM) is pleased to announce the hire of Luke Matthews as Head of Sales – Australia. Luke joins CSM following a successful three years as Head of Corporate & Foundation at Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Club.

During this time, he was responsible for the design and implementation of Wests Tigers’ sponsorship, hospitality, events and foundation strategy, resulting in significant commercial revenue growth. Most recently, Luke secured a major 5-year partnership with global insurer Zurich, as naming rights partner of the Wests Tigers’ new $78m Centre of Excellence.
Luke has built an impressive career having dedicated over 23 years to the sports industry, leading commercial teams across a portfolio of international sports governing bodies (Fiji Rugby Union), national rights holders (Australian Turf Club), sport management / marketing agencies (Southern Cross Sports Marketing), and brands (Bluetongue Brewery).
For 10 years – from 2008 – Luke successfully started and ran his own sport management agency, where he was regarded as a progressive commercial leader in the Australian sporting landscape.
Mike Vandrau, Managing Director – Rights, said: “It goes without saying that we are excited to have Luke join us, as we believe he will be critical in continuing to build our presence and commercial opportunities within the Australia and APAC region.
“We have some exciting developments planned in Australia for 2023, therefore it’s the perfect time to have Luke on board driving the commercial opportunities in market.”
Luke Matthews said: “I was inspired to join CSM based on its history of entrepreneurship, something which is close to my heart, and I have built a career on.
“Given CSM’s reputation in the global market, and targeted growth strategy for the APAC region, this felt like a brilliant opportunity and the perfect next step for me. With the major events set to take place in Australia and the APAC region in the coming years, it’s an exciting time to be joining CSM, who sit firmly at the heart of the sport and entertainment industry.”

To bolster the Rights team further, CSM has also recently hired Georgia Kay in the UK as Partnership Development Manager. Georgia specialises in Formula 1 and motorsport partnerships and joins CSM from Talisman where she was Director of Partnership Development.
