Four new directors have been appointed to the Board of the European Sponsorship Association (ESA), at the Association’s Annual General Meeting which was held in London yesterday, 3rd June.
Nick Fuller of EdComs, Krane Jeffery of Yahoo, Tanya Veingard of Lloyds Banking Group and Andy Westlake of Fast Track were newly appointed while existing Director, John Trainor of Onside Sponsorship in Ireland was re-elected to the Board.
ESA Chairman Karen Earl said: “We are delighted that John Trainor has been re-elected and also want to welcome our new Directors, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ESA and will help to make up a very strong Board”.
Nick joins with significant experience in educational sponsorship. As Chairman of EdComs, he set up the agency in 1995 with clients including blue-chip companies, retailers, Government and leading charities. Nick was seconded as Head of Education to London 2012 in 2007 and then returned to EdComs in 2013. He is particularly keen to help young people in sponsorship develop their skills and careers in a structured way.
Krane’s expertise in media sponsorship includes eight years with Carat Sponsorship and the last four with Yahoo where he launched an EMEA sponsorship and content division for the company. As Director, Yahoo Studio, Krane is committed to furthering the digital agenda in the sponsorship industry.
As Partnership Development Lead of Lloyds Banking Group, Tanya’s sponsorship experience over many years includes both agency-side and in-house where she has worked for blue chip companies. She has been involved with numerous global sporting events and four Olympic Games including London 2012 with Lloyds Banking Group.
CEO of Fast Track, Andy Westlake brings his vast experience of working across sponsorship from the media owner side with Capital Radio and EMAP through to the agency side where he has developed the sponsorship capability within a media agency. He has worked for many years at Fast Track, part of the global Sports and Entertainment Group CSM, helping a range of blue chip organisations bring value to their businesses through partnerships in sport.
Karen Earl added: “It is always good to have new Directors on the Board to inject fresh ideas. ESA has enjoyed a strong past 12 months with highlights that have included the ESA Diploma, which attracted 60 students from across the globe this year; the well-received ESA Sponsorship Summit, the ESA Knowledge programme that followed up key issues highlighted at the 2013 Sponsorship Summit, the ever-expanding ESA Excellence Awards, and the third year of the ESA European sponsorship industry figures.
“There is always much to do in this exciting industry of ours. The ESA Board is concentrating on the future strategy of the Association in order to place it in the very best position possible to represent the sponsorship industry and provide its members with benefits that they value and utilise”.
