In 2016 Lidl signed a 3 year partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA).
As women’s sport does not receive a great deal of media attention and Lidl had never invested in sponsorship before; we were faced with the challenges of making the public think differently about Ladies Football and about Lidl as a sponsoring brand.
The first year of the sponsorship has met and surpassed those challenges; establishing Lidl’s Serious Support for Ladies Football and breaking the attendance record at the Ladies Football Final in September which had the highest attendance at a female sporting event in Europe.
