Gamers Without Borders

2021, started off quickly with major news with announcement of a miracle. A vaccine for the global pandemic that shutdown the world for the majority of 2020. That news brought hope of a normal world once again. Every passing day and every new dose administered many started feeling safer and ready to go back out into the world.

The problem was that most of humanity could not afford the price of going back to normal along with the world’s wealthy countries. And leaving these at-risk communities meant that the world would never truly recover. Even worse was that the majority of people living in these wealthy countries had no realization of this matter, and no realization that they had the power to help change this reality.

Hoping to help motivate change, the Saudi Esports Federation moved to bring back its flagship gaming initiative that first started in 2020 in response to the emergence of the pandemic, but with a new mantra, Gamers Without Borders: No One Left Behind. The initiative took a mission in partnership with globally leading humanitarian organizations like UNICEF, GAVI, and the International Medical Corps to raise awareness about the issue and to support the distribution vaccines among communities at risk of being forgotten while other global superpowers move into a post-pandemic era.

The results were unimaginable! $10 million donated to support the distribution of vaccines among at risk communities and a combined media exposure of $71.8 million that went towards these organizations’ messages on the matter.
