Our Office Houseparty is a yearly highlight for the employees in Oslo and takes place every year in December. With work from home being the norm during the pandemic, it was clear that the party could not take place. At the same time, it was even more crucial to create a meeting place for the employees. With the backing from Group Management, we worked on a concept to replace the traditional office party which also included employees outside Oslo. Our aim was to create the best digital event ever.
The idea was that the live event should be something that could bring each department together. Early on we decided to communicate the concept to all managers and get them involved. They were given tools to help them design their own digital Christmas party to be integrated “Home alone – together”.
With a digital solution we were able to reach the lounge of every employee and we hoped that the threshold for participating would be lower. Thus, we had a goal of at least 80% participation.
It was also a goal that the event should boost internal pride and strengthen the culture – as well as contributing to increased job satisfaction and motivation.
Developing a new digital event with a new approach to engage our colleagues with the same ambitious goals as before we are happy to announce that we reached well above all our objectives and the digital event was a great success.
