2020 was unquestionably challenging for everyone in the sponsorship industry, and for an agency with full-service capabilities like Octagon, it was incredibly demanding. The period April-August 2020 saw the business lose 40% of projected revenue for the year. Yet as we close at 2021, we are ending the year with record numbers: 2021 will see Octagon Europe post it’s highest ever revenue and margin figures, whilst continuing to produce brilliant work for our clients.
This recovery has been truly phenomenal, and we are incredibly proud of all of our team – the resilience, effort and sheer hard work they have shown, and we want to enter this award to say thank you to them, and ensure they have the recognition they deserve.
Key highlights of the year have included:-
- Creating major new campaigns for long term clients (Cisco, Expedia, Snickers and many more)
- Helped brands new to sponsorship such as WebEx (McLaren) and Sipsmith (Wimbledon)
- Expansion of our Esports offering (Mastercard & BMW)
- 14 New business wins
- Major investment in our people
- Mental Health First Aid Training for staff
- New office space
- Partnering with Creative Equals to improve our understanding and investment in Diversity and Inclusivity across all facets of the business
2021 has not only been a brilliant recovery, but it has also set the business up tremendously for the future. We have invested in new talent, developed our existing people, reshaped departments, retained all existing clients and brought in new ones.
