Ireland is on a journey have net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The pace of that change will be determined by people, and the rate at which we adopt innovative technologies, and low carbon alternatives to how we heat our homes and businesses and utilise transport.
Our purpose is to lead the transition to a low carbon future, and we have an imperative to engage with communities, and build public support for the energy transition.
As a long-term patron of the arts in Ireland, ESB recognises the vital role that artists play not only in recording and interpreting social and economic developments, but also in engaging communities and stimulating innovation and creativity.
Our collaboration with Fishamble:The New Play company on the “Tiny Plays for a Brighter Future” challenge allowed us to start a debate about what a brighter energy future means for Ireland, as imagined in 600-word tiny plays.
