Many of us tend to consider Art as being very sophisticated, and something that is mainly enjoyed by others – people who have more free time or passion for it.
Art takes many forms, is all around us, and brings much colour to our lives and meaning to the places where we live and work.
Since 2020 Bank of Ireland in partnership with Business to Arts, supports arts in the community through its Begin Together Arts Fund. €1M has been distributed over three rounds to 81 artists and arts projects across the island of Ireland.
From its introduction when artists were among those whose livelihood were most acutely impacted by the pandemic to today when they look to re-establish their audiences and connect with communities the fund has provided critical support for artists to sustain themselves and their work.
As part of Bank of Ireland’s wider Begin Together programme which looks to support future facing initiatives and the people behind them that help make communities stronger, the Arts Fund has provided a unique dimension, allowing us to reach and often overlooked group and adding depth and colour to our activity.
The Begin Together Arts fund has been recognised within the Arts Community in Ireland for its vital support to artists including an award for “Best Philanthropic Support to the Arts”. It has also had a positive impact on perceptions of Bank of Ireland and is a driver of brand consideration.
