In July, evian, Official Water of The Championships, together with Wimbledon, revealed their first ever on-court refillable system for players, as a new way to hydrate* during The Championships.
Long-standing partners since 2008, evian and Wimbledon joined forces on this exciting pilot scheme to enable and encourage refill and reuse hydration behaviours. The initiative is in line with evian’s commitment to circularity and Wimbledon’s Environment Positive 2030 commitment.
The new refillable system enabled refill behaviour amongst the players, whilst continuing to deliver evian natural mineral water from its pristine mountain source, The evian refill system saw players provided with their own reusable bottles that could be refilled with evian natural mineral water from a series of refill stations in players’ areas such as practice courts, dressing rooms and restaurants. The system also included on-court refill, with Courts 2-18 having an on-court dispenser positioned beneath the umpire chair for players to refill their bottles themselves during matches, alongside ball boys and girls, who were also on hand to help refill. The refill system was completely bespoke, designed, developed and delivered by evian with Wimbledon for Wimbledon, and over 18 months in the making.
This new system was successfully adopted by all players and enabled evian to champion a refill model on a worldwide stage. evian exceeded its business objectives, both brands taking another step on their sustainability journey.
