TeamViewer is a leading global technology company that provides a connectivity platform to remotely access, control, manage, monitor, and repair devices of any kind. To appeal to Enterprise Audiences and strengthen their reputation as a market leader and socially responsible innovator, TeamViewer sought to address gender representation in sports technology.
A poignant representation of the wider technology sector, Sports Technology is a field where 75% of roles are held by men. To get more women into sports tech, TeamViewer leveraged their partnerships with Manchester United FC and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. They launched SheSportTech: a pathway that offered women a chance to learn about sport technology and earn a grant to help them break into the field.
If you can’t see it, you can’t be it: Content was an integral part of our strategy. SheSportTech put the real women working in sport technology within MUFC and MAMG at the forefront of the campaign. These women became role models and mentors, driving awareness about the variety of roles and opportunities available.
The initiative rollout saw TeamViewer taking over Old Trafford, hosting Webinars and creating a dedicated hub, full of resources and role model interviews – which were watched for 444 hours!
The first of its kind, SheSportTech was a success: it increased consideration of sports tech as a career among women 25-35 by 30%. TeamViewer received more than six times its target applications for grants; and increased awareness of their sponsorships and consideration of their brand among its Enterprise Audiences.
