Sky Broadband & Guild Esports: Women in Gaming

The Women in Gaming initiative, a collaboration between Sky Broadband and Guild Esports, tackled the stark underrepresentation of women in professional esports, where they comprise only 5% of the competitive landscape. With 47% of the gaming community identifying as women, this campaign created tangible opportunities for women to progress professionally.

Guild Esports led the charge by hosting the Racers Eseries and Football Eseries tournaments, providing women gamers with platforms to showcase their talents. The winners will be awarded professional contracts, offering a direct pathway into the esports industry. By leveraging Guild’s expertise and community reach, Sky Broadband reinforced its commitment to diversity while demonstrating the importance of fast, reliable internet for competitive success.

With 11.7 million impressions and 1.7 million video views achieved so far, the campaign reached its awareness and engagement goals early on, setting the stage for upcoming activations. PR and social media coverage have garnered additional support, bringing mainstream attention to the need for gender equity in esports.

The Women in Gaming campaign established Sky Broadband as a leading advocate for diversity and inclusion, helping to close the gender gap in gaming and making a lasting impact on the future of esports.
