In 2018 insights determined the drivers of trust for our brand – “Scale”, “Affinity” & “Proximity”. For sponsorship, we had a big challenge. Our partnerships with Get Ireland Growing and Seachtain na Gaeilge were performing very well, however it was clear that the brand needed greater scale. Insights revealed the power of rugby sponsorship to build trust with an audience perfectly aligned to our target demographic. We had invested in successful rugby sponsorships with Leinster Rugby and Pro14. It was time to step up. We needed rugby to become a far bigger beacon for the brand.
Our thorough strategic process resulted in an ambitious plan to significantly increase our investment in rugby sponsorship and develop a 360 campaign to deliver far greater presence and proximity for the Energia brand.
Energia – The Power behind Irish Rugby was born. We delivered scale and presence through our national team and Leinster rugby sponsorships. We delivered proximity through our grassroots sponsorship of the Energia AIL (All Ireland League) and we delivered powerful engagement with a consistent sponsorship campaign delivered through all touchpoints.
The results have been outstanding and we hope to demonstrate why we believe this is the best of European sports sponsorship.
