In November 2019, three teams wanted to win Ireland V New Zealand at the Aviva stadium in Dublin. In order to be the brand most associated with rugby and most loved by rugby fans in Ireland, Guinness wrote a new chapter in rugby history. The brand reunited Brian O’Driscoll and Tana Umaga over a pint of the black stuff, spotlighting the camaraderie of rugby, a value which is shared by Guinness and rugby fans alike. The activitation saw the brand monopolise the cultural conversation in the lead up to the big game.
