Limelight Sports’ CEO, Craig Dews, received an Outstanding Contribution to the Sponsorship Industry Award at the 2016 UK Sponsorship Awards in London.
Craig has been a pioneer in participation sports events for almost 20 years and as CEO of Limelight Sports has been involved in and led some of the world’s biggest and most iconic participation sport experiences, including Nike Run London, British Gas Swim Britain, Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, Swimathon, SkyRide and the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.
Craig’s focus on combining live events, marketing and technology to create authentic participant experiences, content and meaningful data for Limelight Sports’ clients has helped the company become a global agency with offices now in London, Melbourne and Dubai.
Limelight Sports’ work to date has enabled millions of people to participate in sport and brought the powerful platform of participation and the active world to some of the world’s best brands, including BT, British Gas, City of Melbourne, Comic Relief, ESPN, J.P. Morgan, Nike, Royal Bank of Canada and Thomson Reuters.
The business also expanded from investing in owned properties including London Duathlon – the biggest duathlon in the world, Royal Bank of Canada V Series – a corporate cycling race and Race the World – the world’s first fully supported team cycling race around the globe.
Commenting on the award, Craig said, “I am extremely honoured to receive this award and would like to thank the UK Sponsorship Awards for the part it has played in promoting participation sport over the years. Of course, the biggest thanks must go to our team at Limelight who continue year on year to create participation experiences of the very highest quality”.
