- Flagship Revere: Investing in Nature initiative now open for Expressions of Interest in companies wishing to purchase high-volume, high-integrity carbon credits from 2030.
National Parks Partnerships (NPP) has joined the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) as it steps up its efforts to secure a pipeline of new partnerships, projects and opportunities which could transform the nation’s most treasured landscapes.
NPP works on behalf of the UK’s 15 National Parks to create partnerships with the private and public sector to benefit the Parks. It has several years’ experience of building successful partnerships with funders including multi-year relationships with global brands including Columbia Sportswear; Santander UK; Estee Lauder Companies; BMW UK; CLIF and Forest Holidays.
Working with impact firm Palladium, NPP developed the Revere partnership, which is aiming to leverage more than £240m of private finance into nature restoration in UK National Parks by 2030. Revere recently encouraged companies to submit Expressions of Interest in UK generated carbon credits, which will be created through woodland planting in National Parks. Sustainable National Parks
As well as nature finance, NPP has been working with global brands on high profile nature partnerships. The focus on nature comes as the latest ESA Annual Trends Report reveals that sustainability and ESG are the top trend among its members.
Last year (2022), NPP teamed up with BMW UK to launch the Recharge in Nature project which is installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points in all National Parks as well as funding nature recovery and engagement work in each Park, and supporting wider work to encourage sustainable tourism.
“We’re seeing an increasing appetite for supporting nature from businesses,” explains NPP Development Director David Bourque. “We’re also at a crossroads where, if we don’t act now for nature, it could be too late.
“That urgency is fuelling innovation and big-impact collaborations. We’ve already embarked on some very exciting partnerships for nature and have more in the pipeline.
“National Parks – as protected landscapes – are well-placed to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, but with ever-limited public funding they need resources to unlock their potential. That’s where National Parks Partnerships comes in.
“We bring together the in-house expertise in developing impactful partnerships, landscape-scale nature restoration and the ability to share stories that move and inspire and encourage even more investment into the UK’s National Parks.”
