Between July 21-23 in Birmingham, the Arts Marketing Association (AMA) conference brings together 650 marketers, fundraisers and leaders from across the arts sector to redefine, reimagine and reinvent the relationship between the arts and the public. This comes at a time of considerable financial pressure on arts organisations, and an increasing need to diversify their income streams.
Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy is supporting the fundraising aspects of AMA conference 2015, and is running an Arts Fundraising Zone on both full days of the conference, providing a platform to talk to fundraisers about the recently launched ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate.
The ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate has been formed in partnership with social enterprise Cause4 and the Arts Council England-funded Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy programme, and we are confident that it will become an irreplaceable qualification for those involved in marketing within the arts and culture sector.
Alison Pascalidis, Development Manager at Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival welcomed the launch of the ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate, saying “Corporate sponsorship is a fundamental part of the fundraising mix for many arts and cultural organisations. A sponsorship qualification tailored to the arts will offer professionals the opportunity to develop the skills vital to success in this area.”
Starting on 21 September 2015 and running across a 12-week period, the certificate will be the only qualification of its kind in the arts and cultural sectors. Comprising distance learning and hosted seminars, it will provide those who are involved in arts and culture, at any level, with a course aimed at improving knowledge about how sponsorship can provide an additional income stream via mutually-beneficial partnerships with the corporate sector.
Vital revenue streams
With ever-greater pressure on public funding, arts and cultural organisations need to develop new income streams alongside public investment and earned income. The ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate will help arts fundraisers to develop the skills and confidence to create, build and maintain successful relationships with business. The syllabus has been designed to focus on how to integrate sponsorship into a successful business model, thereby increasing private sector funding, and offers ‘best practice’ guidance for practitioners in the ever-evolving world of corporate sponsorship.
Please see here for more information on the special member prices and early bird offer, syllabus and enrolment details. There is also a free taster session in London in early September for people wanting to find out more.
