In 2016 the enlightened kindred spirits at Energia and GIY came together to re brand and re launch the showcase community campaign – Energia Get Ireland Growing. This completely unique social programme and community fund was launched on November 28th, 2016 to great excitement.
How it works. Community and voluntary organisations apply for grants from the fund to start a food growing project in their community. The platform is promoted nationally and locally to drive awareness, interest and applications. The team at GIY pour through the applications and take on the difficult task of deciding the winners. The awardees are then celebrated at the Energia Get Ireland Growing awards ceremony.
