Extreme E

Extreme E is a pioneering racing series, showcasing electric SUVs and futuristic technologies in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments.

The series’ goal is to highlight the impact of climate change in some of the world’s most endangered environments, promote the adoption of electric vehicles to pave the way for a lower carbon future, and provide a world-first gender-equal motorsport platform. The first sport to ever be built out of a social purpose, Extreme E aims to minimise environmental impact while maximising awareness, racing in places that have already been damaged or affected by climate change or human interference and taking fans deep into the heart of the most pressing issues facing our planet’s future.

Sport is the most powerful and effective platform to drive innovation and our commitment to delivering a sustainable motorsport championship full of excitement and with a reduced carbon footprint is testament to that. At each location Extreme E has Legacy Programmes, which leave a long-lasting positive impact.

Sport has huge potential to reach mass audiences – 24 out of the 25 of the most watched TV broadcasts ever have been about sport. With over 25 per cent of global emissions levels being generated from the transport industry, there is an urgent need to act and everyone must play a role in positive change. Extreme E uses the power and reach of sport to raise awareness for global climate issues and accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions for a lower carbon future.
