The Cairn Community Games partnership is a bold expression of equality, diversity, and inclusion in action. It reimagines a beloved Irish institution for a new generation – ensuring every child, regardless of background or ability, has an equal opportunity to participate and belong.
Cairn, Ireland’s leading home and community builder, recognised that true placemaking extends beyond bricks and mortar. Partnering with Community Games, a volunteer-led movement engaging over 160,000 young people, Cairn sought to build a platform where every child can go “all in” – not just in sport, but in art, culture and music.
Through the “We’re All In” campaign, Cairn invested €3 million over four years to evolve the Games into a fully inclusive national movement. In year two, the partnership amplified representation through Irish Taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley, celebrating diversity and LGBTQ+ visibility. The campaign broadened reach through social, digital and community activations, and introduced a permanent Cairn Community Games Area in Cairn community – embedding inclusivity within new neighbourhoods from day one.
The impact was profound: 5000 more girls joined the Games, overall participation rose by 5.3%, and the Games earned Investors in Diversity Silver Accreditation. Awareness of Cairn as sponsor more than doubled, while Cairn earned a market leader position across all brand performance KPIs.
The Cairn Community Games have transformed an iconic Irish brand into a modern, inclusive movement – proving that equality and participation go hand in hand, and setting a new benchmark for EDI-led sponsorship in Ireland.
