The Irish Times Ireland’s Greenest Places partnership with Electric Ireland

Ireland’s Greenest Places is a groundbreaking national partnership between Electric Ireland, dentsu, and The Irish Times, celebrating the communities leading Ireland’s transition to a cleaner, greener future and inspiring others to join them.

Born from a shared belief that small changes can make a big difference, the initiative set out to champion sustainability at a grassroots level while positioning Electric Ireland as the trusted energy partner supporting customers on their journey to net zero.

For Electric Ireland, Ireland’s Greenest Places provided an authentic and human-centred platform to showcase leadership in sustainability not just through products, but through genuine community engagement. The Irish Times, as Ireland’s most trusted publisher media brand, provided the credibility, reach, and storytelling expertise to bring that message to life.

Through nationwide nominations, editorial storytelling, video features, and targeted media activity, the campaign uncovered inspiring local stories of people making tangible environmental progress. These were amplified alongside premium content explaining how Electric Ireland’s net zero products, including Solar PV, EV chargers, and Electric Ireland Superhomes retrofits help households and businesses take practical steps towards a more sustainable future.

The results spoke for themselves: soaring product leads, significant engagement, and a wave of positive sentiment around local sustainability. Ireland’s Greenest Places proved that when purpose, partnership, and storytelling align, sponsorship can do more than meet business goals; it can galvanise communities and create lasting impact for people and the planet alike.
