McDonald’s Fun Football

McDonald’s has had a long history with over 23 years of sponsorship in grassroots football. Only a brand with that much experience, can look around and realise there’s a gap, a chance to do things differently.

Starting in 2019, we launched a test event, which has now grown into a full programme – pioneering no-commitment, no-experience, no-cost Fun Football sessions.

We now service 912 locations, and over 64% of British communities. We’ve worked with Children in Need to prioritise to the areas with the highest deprivation. New locations are targeted to give kids who might be unable to access traditional football the opportunity to build confidence and make new friends for FREE at Fun Football sessions and festivals across the UK

Fun Football offers a range of free opportunities to access football at no cost. From weekly coaching sessions and pop-up festivals to online coaching drills, free activity books packed with games & activities, to opportunities to win football related prizes.

It removes barriers to participation by requiring no commitment, no experience, and no cost. Sessions are delivered by qualified coaches. Recently we’ve expanded the programme even further, with additional training to make sure children with complex needs, neurodiversity and hearing or visual impairments are also included, as our DEI footprint continues to grow.
