Metro Bank Champion of Women’s and Girls’ Cricket

Metro Bank’s partnership with the ECB is about more than sponsorship – it’s designed to create lasting change for women’s and girls’ cricket while building a long-term legacy for the Bank. Now in its third year of a six-year partnership, Metro Bank has laid the foundations for transformational growth, showing that purpose-led investment can deliver both community impact and business value.

At the heart of the partnership is the Metro Bank Girls in Cricket Fund, a multi-pillar grassroots programme tackling the biggest barrier to growth: people. Through a coaching pathway the Fund attracts new volunteers, supports coach development, builds confidence at club level, and nurtures the next generation of ECB Coach Developers – all working towards trebling the number of women’s and girls’ cricket teams by 2028.

2025 saw the launch of Team Up Dream Up, a campaign highlighting the power of teamwork, confidence, and opportunity in women’s cricket. The Seeing is Believing activation was designed to inspire participation by addressing the lack of high-quality imagery in grassroots cricket – strengthening Metro Bank’s role as Champion of Women and Girls’ Cricket.

Beyond cricket, Metro Bank has extended its impact through Sponsored By You, a campaign giving female entrepreneurs the chance to promote their businesses on the big stage with tailored ECB sponsorship packages. Together, these programmes show how Metro Bank combines purpose and action to create measurable social impact, grow communities, and deliver long-term business value, proving that when you invest in people and relationships, everyone thrives.
