The Cairn Community Games partnership brings together Ireland’s leading home and community builder with one of the country’s most cherished grassroots institutions. At its core, the partnership embodies Cairn’s purpose – to build sustainable communities where people can thrive – by supporting inclusive participation and belonging for children nationwide. In a housing market long defined by structural challenges and low trust, Cairn sought to demonstrate its purpose through genuine, long-term social impact.
Community Games – a volunteer-led movement reaching over 430 towns and 160,000 young participants – offered the perfect platform. With its deep roots in local Ireland and shared values of inclusion, equality, and community spirit, the Games aligned seamlessly with Cairn’s purpose. Over four years, Cairn committed €3 million to evolve the Games into a more inclusive, accessible, and diverse organisation under the platform “We’re All In” — shifting focus from competition to participation. Year two saw the introduction of ambassador Jack Woolley, enhanced national reach across digital and traditional media, and integration of Cairn Community Games Area to Cairn communities.
Results were powerful: overall participation rose by 5.3% adding 13,000 young people to the Games, 5000 more girls joined the Games and awareness of Cairn as sponsor more than doubled. Brand trust, community reputation, and consideration all surged, delivering a 2.7:1 ROI.
The Cairn Community Games demonstrate sponsorship as a force for social good – empowering inclusion, participation and joy in communities nationwide, and proving that when Cairn builds, it’s Built For Good.
