For Difference Makers – Dalata Hotel Group and The GAA

In 2025, Dalata Hotel Group took a bold step into sport, becoming Title Sponsor of the GAA U20 All-Ireland Football Championship — a perfect union of Ireland’s biggest hotel group and its most community-rooted sport.

Dalata’s challenge was to build brand warmth and awareness in a low-interest category while strengthening its employer brand. The GAA provided a powerful sporting platform to do both — uniting Irish communities and celebrating teamwork and individual talent.

The brand’s creative idea, “For Difference Makers,” mirrored the essence of both Dalata and U20 football: ordinary people doing extraordinary things for their teams.

Activation was integrated across broadcast, social, and experiential channels:

TG4 stings brought the energy of match commentary into hotels (“Barista”, “Chef”, “Front of House”).

Off The Ball created national conversations around “Difference Makers of the Week.”

PR & Earned Media amplified reach through 853 pieces of coverage and €1.6M media value.

Results were exceptional for a debut sponsorship:

+79% broadcast reach, +5pt brand awareness lift, 1.5M content views, and 100% positive sentiment.

Dalata’s sponsorship turned values into visibility, proving that when hospitality meets heritage, sport becomes the stage for brand transformation.
