Nico Rosberg has appointed CAA Sports as the global agency to represent his commercial interests and support him in his new endeavours beyond Formula 1®.
CAA Sports, a division of leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), will access its unparalleled resources and connectivity across sport, entertainment, and pop culture to help build the current World Champion’s commercial portfolio internationally.
In addition, CAA Sports Consulting will work with Rosberg and his management team to develop his marketing strategy as he explores a range of new opportunities and challenges away from the track.
Over the last seven years, Rosberg has been at the pinnacle of the sport racing for Mercedes AMG Petronas and helping rewrite the Formula 1® history books in the process. Last year, Rosberg beat teammate Lewis Hamilton in a thrilling head-to-head finale to clinch the Championship in Abu Dhabi. Following the fulfillment of his childhood dream, Rosberg stunned the sporting world and announced his retirement from the sport at the age of 31.
The signing of Rosberg comes on the heels of Formula 1®’s most recent announcement that it had selected CAA Sports to exclusively represent the sponsorship rights for the iconic global motorsports business worldwide.
Rosberg commented; “It is fantastic to have CAA’s support as I strive for new challenges in this exciting new chapter of my life. CAA Sports offers the support that I have been looking for. They understand my motivations and what I hope to achieve. I look forward to our alliance and exploring new opportunities together in the future.”
Paul Danforth, CAA Sports Global Head of Sales said; “We are thrilled to have Nico join us as a client of the agency. We all watched his incredible Championship-winning season closely and are excited to have a world champion of such distinction and class join our roster.”
Andy Kenny, Head of CAA Sports Consulting London, said; “Our strategy and comms team are enjoying working closely with Nico and his team, as we set out the marketing plan for this exciting new phase of his life.”
