Vitality, the innovative insurance and investment business, is today launching #WeAreRising, a new campaign which will champion and celebrate the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019, as well as inspire more people to participate in the sport with a pledge to fund grassroots coaches.
Created in partnership with ENGINE Sport for the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019, which takes place in Liverpool from 12th – 21st July, Vitality’s campaign is empowering the nation to rise up and get behind the sixteen teams competing this summer and get involved with the sport at all levels.
As part of its #WeAreRising campaign, Vitality has pledged that for every 100 goals scored during the Vitality Netball World Cup, they will provide funding for one person to obtain a UKCC Level 1 Assistant Qualification Coaching Certificate through England Netball. Goals scored during tournament play and associated activities in the Vitality Netball World Cup fan zone will all count towards the final tally, meaning that international players and supporters can all be a part of the legacy to help grow grassroots netball.
The campaign was launched today at St Hilda’s Church of England High School in Sefton Park, Liverpool, at a media day and netball coaching masterclass with Vitality Roses Head Coach Tracey Neville, alongside Vitality Roses stars Jade Clarke, Serena Guthrie and Fran Williams.
Commenting on the announcement, Vitality Roses Head Coach Tracey Neville says: “This is a huge summer for the Vitality Roses, not only are we gearing up to take on the world’s best teams, but we will be facing them on home soil so we except all eyes to be on us. We need the support of the nation behind us in July and want to encourage more people to watch, get involved and play netball and we are thankful to Vitality for helping us to achieve this with this fantastic campaign.”
The Vitality Roses are amongst the favourites at the Vitality Netball World Cup after their Commonwealth Games gold. With netball booming, Vitality’s new campaign reinforces the brand’s commitment to the long-term success of women’s sport.
Commenting on the announcement, Chrissy Fice, Brand Director at Vitality UK says: “At Vitality we use the power of sport to encourage people to be more active, collaborating with elite athletes, clubs and teams to drive participation at every level. This mantra is no different when it comes to netball, and our title sponsorship of the Vitality Netball World Cup is proof of our ongoing commitment to building and maintaining the future of netball across the UK.”
#WeAreRising will be activated and amplified by ENGINE Sport, which earlier this year re-branded from Synergy.
“As far as summers go it doesn’t get much bigger than 2019 for women’s sport. This campaign is designed to celebrate and cement netball’s position as an elite, competitive sport. Vitality uses the power of sport to drive participation at every level and ENGINE Sport can’t wait to celebrate every single World Cup goal which will enable even more women to play the game,” says Lisa Parfitt, Managing Director of ENGINE Sport.
