Ahead of the 2016 ESA Excellence Awards in February we want to bring you some of our shortlisted nominees and have them tell you, in their own words, why being shortlisted for an ESA Excellence Award is so important.
We’re also sharing some great video content that has been kindly submitted by our shortlisted nominees to support their entries.
You can read all about the nominees on our 2016 Shortlist page here.
So, without further ado, let’s take a look…
“With the Olympics, Ryder Cup and Euros all taking place in 2016, it’s been a busy year for the sports industry. Entries for the ESA Excellence Awards will have been strong as a result, and being shortlisted for ‘best use of PR’ is a significant accolade.” (Nicola McKelvey, Performance Communications)

“UEFA EURO 2016 was a hugely significant event for SOCAR, by providing a major platform to launch the brand across Europe. The #MakeYourDebut campaign was extremely successful for the business, and this award category now gives SOCAR the opportunity to be recognised for their inaugural campaign by their industry peers, which would be a fitting tribute to the work carried out by everyone in the team.” (Alex Howe, Octagon)

“The ESA Excellence Awards are among the sponsorship industry’s most prestigious awards and we are extremely proud of being shortlisted for six awards – a new record for McDonald’s. These nominations acknowledge the quality of the brand’s sponsorship activation across a variety of categories. As an agency, we are excited that our entries resonated so well with the judges and it is a great reward for all the hard work everybody put into these projects. We can’t wait for the Awards Night!” (Florian Kogler, Leo Burnett)
“An ESA Award holds a special place for all of us at HSE Cake because of what ESA represents in our industry. This is an authentic judgement of our work carried out by our peers. Every individual working in this industry, on whatever side of the table we sit, has benefitted from ESA’s role in promoting sponsorship as a marketing discipline. So, regardless of who wins on the night, the ESA Excellence Awards are a lovely opportunity to celebrate and support this important work.” (Adrian Pettett, HSE Cake)
