Conor Byrne
Senior Director of Marketing for Global NextGen Markets, Indeed
Indeed is the world’s largest job site and Conor Byrne’s role involves managing ten markets across APAC, EMEA and LATAM. Conor is responsible for the go-to market growth strategies for these markets, across both B2C and B2B customer bases, taking them to a place of maturity within the business that enables them to graduate out of NextGen status. In 2022 Conor launched the podcast “That’s What I Call Marketing” which profiles some of the leading lights in the marketing world and charts their unique stories from how they got to where they are today, their personal beliefs when it comes to marketing and the future of the industry. Conor has degrees in Business and Psychology, and despite his failed attempt at becoming a chef, he still loves to cook when he has downtime.
Briain Curtin
VP Global Marketing, WHOOP
Briain Curtin is VP of Global Marketing at WHOOP. Briain has been with the company for more than 2 years, and has extensive experience in the wearable technology space. He formerly held the position of Director of Brand and Media at Fitbit; but now leads global marketing efforts for WHOOP, out of Ireland. Leading a team of 18, Briain manages all commercial, lifecycle, media, sports marketing and PR at WHOOP.
Pippa Doyle

Pippa Doyle is Senior Manager, Global PR at WHOOP. Having been with the company for almost 2 years, Pippa has worked across the brand, integrated campaigns and communications functions. Based in Ireland, she now leads global PR efforts for WHOOP.

Seán is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Consumer Neuroscience research agency Future Proof Insights. By combining the worlds of Consumer Research and Neuroscience, Future Proof combine a variety of methodologies to help clients quantify and explain the subconscious processes that drive human behaviour. Seán is also a co-founder of Future Proof Media.
Danielle McKenna
Sponsorship Manager, Irish Life
Danielle holds a postgraduate in Marketing and Management from TU Dublin. Her marketing career began in Irish health insurance start-up, GloHealth. When GloHealth was acquired by Irish Life in 2016, Danielle moved to the Irish Life Health marketing team. In her role as Brand Manager, she began to focus more closely on sponsorship, working on both commercial and cause related sponsorships including the award winning Runuary, and Schools’ Fitness Challenge.
In 2020, Danielle moved to Irish Life’s group marketing team, where she now looks after master-brand sponsorships and group PR initiatives. Danielle heads up Irish Life’s new sponsorship of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon, which was recently named “Best Sports Sponsorship” at the All-Ireland Marketing Awards.
Daragh Persse
Managing Director and Founder, The Brand Fans | ESA Board Director
Daragh Persse is a sponsorship specialist and Founder of The Brand Fans, an international independent sponsorship and cause marketing consultancy based in Dublin. Daragh was previously Global Sponsorship Director at Vodafone working with UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, Manchester United, England Cricket and numerous music artists, festivals and events. Daragh pioneered the development of a proprietary model for the evaluation of sponsorship properties on behalf of brands and rights holders. The Brand Fans work with numerous partners including Heineken, Santa Rita, Virgin Media, Energia, Barclays, AIG, Live Nation, Betway, Bacardi, IRFU, FAI and Leinster Rugby, working across strategy, planning, rights negotiation, activation and evaluation.
Shane McGonigle
CEO, Marketing Institute Ireland
Shane leads the Executive team at Marketing Institute Ireland (MII) as CEO and is responsible for the delivery of the strategy to promote the marketing profession in Ireland. In this role, he leads the programmes to educate, enable and empower marketers at all stages of their career. He brings a wealth of international experience and marketing expertise to the role, having held senior positions in marketing agencies and client companies for over 30 years. He has lived and worked in Ireland, Belgium and the USA and held industry positions including director of the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI), Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster, External Examiner at the Technology University Dublin and is a former President of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI). He is currently on the board of the European Marketing Confederation. Shane is a passionate advocate for education and diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Sophie Morris

Sophie has been developing and implementing marketing strategies for the last 20 years with Director-level experience in financial services. She now runs Millharbour Marketing, a strategic marketing and sponsorship consultancy, focused on designing research-led business processes and tools for rights holders and sponsors that improve efficiency, relevance and commercial performance.
Sophie is a Chartered Marketer, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, an ESA Board Director, an Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Sport Business at Loughborough University London, a Lecturer and Strategic Sponsorship Programme Developer for Loughborough University London, an Advisory Board member of the Danish Sponsorship group ‘SPOT:ON Club’, a judge of the UK, Belgian and Slovenian Sponsorship awards and a Business Ambassador (Partnerships Management) for School of Hard Knocks charity. She co-founded ESA’s National Representatives workstream and is an international speaker on marketing and sponsorship topics.
