“With regards to the vote for the UK to leave the EU, ESA has thought about the implications for our members and, at this stage, we can see no immediate changes that will occur. Still, we are monitoring the situation closely, both in the UK and through the ESA presence in Brussels.
This presence includes tracking legislation, sponsorship market size across Europe, representing the industry amongst policy makers and giving facts and figures to the media. Our Brussels representation will now become more important than ever as a bridgehead into the EU for ESA’s UK members on matters affecting international sponsorship such as gambling, alcohol sponsorship, fast food and broadcast sponsorship.
We are pleased that the uncertainty, at least as to the result, has been removed and look forward to playing a role in building the sponsorship industry into the future with initiatives such as our ESA Diploma which is training a new generation of sponsorship professionals across Europe.”
