The decision taken by Adidas to end its association with the IAAF will not have been taken lightly. A sponsorship is always a two-way relationship and a breakdown such as this affects all parties involved.
We have seen recently how pressure from top sponsors has helped drive positive change within FIFA. Adidas’ termination of its sponsorship further underlines how important it is for the IAAF to push through Lord Coe’s reforms as a matter of urgency.
