The European Sponsorship Association (ESA), the membership body that works to inspire better marketing across rights holders, brands and agencies, today announces that Repucom, the trusted advisor in sports and entertainment intelligence, is to partner with the ESA Summit 2015 providing the research and insight that will underpin the Summit theme of: Is official dead?
As the insight partner of the ESA Summit, taking place on 18th November at the Royal College of Medicine in London, Repucom will help to shape the day’s discussions and conclusions on this year’s primary theme, which will see senior marketing and sponsorship professionals in attendance.
Repucom will utilise its wide-ranging global insights and historic data sets, as well as conducting exclusive strategic research, to explore the topic in detail and understand how fans consume and engage with ‘official’ content and partners. The key findings will be presented at the event in November.
Commenting on the partnership, Jon Stainer, Repucom UK & Ireland Managing Director said: “We’re delighted to be partnering a highly-regarded organisation like ESA and helping to develop the theme of this year’s event. The ESA Summit always provides stimulating discussion and drives the industry forward. Repucom is looking forward to playing its part in 2015.”
He continued “Sponsorship has outpaced all other major revenue streams and is expected to be three times bigger by 2018 than it was in 2004. At the same time, we’ve all experienced the move towards a more tailored, flexible, partnership approach and the multitude of opportunities and challenges the digital and social revolution has thrown up. Our research will shed some light on precisely how the industry is changing and the relevance of existing and traditional sponsorship models.”
Karen Earl, the Chairman of the European Sponsorship Association, added: “The theme for this year’s ESA Summit will, I’m sure, divide opinion and create debate like no other in ESA’s history. And this is exactly what we want. Our industry should always be ready to challenge itself and, working with the established team at Repucom, we’re gearing up to be able to debate, with confidence, the question on whether the official paradigm has to evolve in order to remain relevant. It’s going to be an exciting day of discussion and revelations!”
