Tim Ellerton
Commercial Director, British Olympic Association
Tim joined the BOA in January 2017 and is responsible for all revenue generation which incorporates Commercial partners, Fundraising and Licensing. The BOA relies solely private sector funding to take Team GB to both the Summer & Winter Olympic Games as well as other IOC sanctioned events such as Youth Festivals & European Games.
Prior to the BOA, Tim was responsible for Heineken’s main sports properties – in particular the UEFA Champions League, Rugby World Cup and recently acquired sponsorship of Formula 1. Tim managed the ATL, BTL, Digital, PR & Promotions of these sponsorships across the 100+ activating markets. In addition, Tim was in charge of the delivery of the sponsorship rights for Heineken’s contracting partners at UEFA, World Rugby and Formula One Management.
Before joining Heineken, Tim was the Sponsorship Manager for Coca-Cola Great Britain working on the company’s global assets such as FIFA World Cup & Olympic Games as well as managing their domestic sponsorships with the Football League and RFU. Tim started his career with Synergy Sponsorship where he worked on the Coca-Cola account.
Mike Mainwaring
Head of Sponsorship, Cazoo
Highly experienced sponsorship leader with a passion for partnerships and purpose.
Mike has worked across multiple brand sectors for global brands including Carlsberg, Barclays, Canterbury and Quilter. He also has significant agency experience where he has led on strategy and activation, working with brands and rights-holders across sport, music, charity and education. Mike has recently joined the rapidly growing on-line automotive brand Cazoo, where he is head of Sponsorship.
Amy Smith
Sponsorship Manager, Vodafone UK
Amy is a Sponsorship Manager at Vodafone UK, passionate about creating and activating credible and authentic partnerships for brands.
Currently managing the British & Irish Lions lead partner sponsorship where she is taking a lead role on fan engagement, tech innovation and content creation.
Previously Amy worked at O2, managing the telco’s long standing sponsorship of The O2, O2 Academy venues, and England Rugby.
Amy kick-started her journey into sport and entertainment as deputy festival director for student festival Beach Break Live, growing it from a small party in a field in Cornwall to an award winning event for 35,000 revellers in South Wales.

Andy has worked in the business of sponsorship and sports marketing for nearly 30 years working for media owners and agencies on major sales, consultancy and activation projects around the world.
From 2002 until 2015 Andy was a key part of the leadership team at Fast Track, rising to CEO. Fast Track was a market leading, international sports marketing agency headquartered in London, now established as an integrated part of the Sport and Entertainment Group CSM. As well as Chairing ESA, he is a board member at British Universities and Colleges Sport and Chairman of Chesham United Ladies FC.
