The European Sponsorship Association today officially responds to the recently announced resignation of FIFA president, Sepp Blatter.
ESA is an organisation that encourages all of its members to uphold, at all times, the highest professional standards across the sponsorship and wider marketing mix.
Nick Johnson, partner at Osborne Clarke and board member of the European Sponsorship Association, commented, “Sponsors will be breathing a big sigh of relief this morning after the resignation of Sepp Blatter – but tempered with the knowledge that there is still much work to be done. FIFA’s sponsors have made their voices heard, and their stance will have been a key factor in Blatter’s decision. Whoever takes up the baton from him will have their work cut out – not just to get FIFA’s house in order but also to rebuild sponsor relationships that have undoubtedly been strained to near-breaking point over the past week.”
ESA continually strives to educate members on the importance of ensuring good business practice, and places a high importance on its members fostering an organisational wide culture of integrity.
