Entrepreneur Jackie Fast announces the launch of her new drinks brand REBEL Pi, introducing rare Canadian ice wine to Britain
After taking a year off following the sale of her successful sponsorship agency Slingshot Sponsorship to The Marketing Group and publishing her bestselling business book PINPOINT, Jackie Fast has invested into launching a Canadian ice wine brand exclusively available in the United Kingdom – REBEL Pi. The brand aims to reintroduce ice wine to a discerning audience, one that is searching for an unforgettable wine experience.
Ice wine production is one of the rarest and riskiest in the world and considered “extreme winemaking” which is why the U.K. sees very little of it on shelves and in restaurants. REBEL Pi aims to change that by introducing the first bottle of the brand – meticulously crafted from Roussanne grapes from a single vineyard in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia – a thousand miles north of Napa. The Roussanne grape is one of the more obscure grapes found due to its low yield and high susceptibility to rot. The fact that this varietal has been used to produce ice wine makes it that much more exceptional, and the only one currently produced globally – exclusively available through REBEL Pi.
Producing aromas of tropical fruit and honey, perfectly balanced with crisp acidity, the REBEL Pi Ice Wine can be enjoyed chilled, on the rocks, or mixed to create the perfect cocktail.
“Following the sale of my last business, I wanted to take everything I learnt and apply it to a completely new industry. Wine has always been a passion and the fact that the drinks industry is incredibly competitive is what made my foray with this business that much more attractive. I am delighted to launch REBEL Pi with the aim to disrupt the wine industry, much like I did with the sponsorship industry.”
In addition to bringing a relatively new product to market, REBEL Pi is also distinguished by its rare production. Ice wine can only be created from hand picking the entire crop of frozen grapes on the first freeze within a few short hours. These frozen grapes are then crushed and pressed to produce a tenth of the liquid – completely concentrating the sweetness, acidity, and flavour. Because grapes need to be handpicked and only during the first freeze, this means that an enormous amount of manpower needs to be on standby throughout the winter months at the point the temperature drops below -10C. The manpower combined with the reduced liquid one crushed (one grape produces just a drop of ice wine compared with table wine) makes ice wine incredibly unique and definably rare.
REBEL Pi ice wine is a luxury that deserves an equally striking package. The label has been created in collaboration with famous graffiti artist Jimi Crayon and evokes an updated cocktail vibe – a huge departure from ice wine currently available.
‘Stealthily Harvested. Precisely Structured’ makes REBEL Pi completely unique to the global ice wine industry and exceptionally different from the British wine market. Perfect served chilled after dinner, or mixed into a cocktail, REBEL Pi ice wine is also versatile enough to be mixed into any number of cocktails that typically call for a sweetener.
Exclusively available online at www.REBELPi.com with a retail price of £139/bottle.
