Award-winning manufacturer Limar have today been unveiled as the Official Helmet Partner of the OVO Energy Tour Series, which returns for its 11th edition in May.
Launched in Italy in 1986, Limar are famed for creating the Ultralight+, the lightest bike helmet in the world.
This partnership extends Limar’s links to the 2019 series, during which the men’s UCI Continental-ranked teams Ribble Pro Cycling and SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling, and the women’s Brother UK–Tifosi p/b OnForm squad will wear their innovative helmets.
To coincide with this announcement one Tour Series fan will win a Limar Air Pro (worth £229.99), the helmet developed as a collaboration with the Astana Pro Cycling Team at the F1 wind tunnel facility at Magny Cours in France, via the race’s Twitter channel. Limar will also be present in the Tour Village promotional zone that is open to all at every round of Britain’s leading televised cycle race series.
Giovanni Caporali, CEO Limar Helmets, said:
We are very proud to support the British cycling scene through our sponsorships of the Ribble Pro Cycling and Swift Carbon Pro Cycling UCI Continental teams. We also wanted to support women’s cycling in the UK by providing helmets to the Brother UK-Tifosi p/b OnForm women’s team.
With Limar having such a strong team presence in the 2019 UK racing scene we were very pleased to further our involvement by becoming the Official Helmet Partner of the OVO Energy Tour Series. We see the series as exciting and dynamic, which fits perfectly with our new Air Revolution range of aero road helmets that are worn by our professional riders around the world.”
The 2019 OVO Energy Tour Series will take place this spring, with a return to Motherwell (Tuesday 14 May) and Aberdeen (Thursday 16 May), as well as Birkenhead hosting the first Merseyside round on Tuesday 21 May, comprising the three confirmed host venues to date.
Event days provide the opportunity for a range of community and cycling activities to take place on the traffic-free circuits. Highlights of the series will once again be screened on ITV4 and broadcast around the world.
Further details of the OVO Energy Tour Series for 2019, including the participating teams and riders, will be announced in the coming weeks.
