Liverpool Ladies Football Club last night (Monday 10 November) hosted their annual Player of the Year awards dinner at Anfield as the Reds celebrated winning back to back Women’s Super League titles.
Vitality, the Official Wellness Partner of Liverpool FC hosted the night’s proceedings in the prestigious Trophy Room at Anfield.
Lucy Bronze was voted as the winner of the first ever Vitality Player of the Season 2014, which takes into consideration an individual’s high fitness levels, staying active inside and outside of football as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
On winning the award England defender Bronze said; “It is a real honour for me to be the first winner of the Vitality Player of the Season. I have received personal accolades previously for my performances on the pitch, but to be recognised for my professionalism and lifestyle off the pitch is something I am extremely proud of.”
The leading lifestyle insurance and its parent company, Discovery, are promoted in a variety of ways by Liverpool FC, including pitch side advertising, branding of the medical staff’s clothing and logo positioning on the Liverpool Ladies kits.

Reds midfielder Fara Williams was named as Manager’s Player of the Year as well as being presented with a Special Recognition award from Liverpool Football Club Chief Executive, Ian Ayre following her record breaking 130th cap for England.
American goalkeeper Libby Stout was voted as the Players’ Player of the Year whilst defender Becky Easton was crowned the Supporters’ Player of the Year following a vote on the Liverpool Ladies Facebook site.
England U20 international Katie Zelem scooped the Young Player of the Year following a fantastic season for the reigning WSL champions.
Liverpool Ladies Manager Matt Beard said: “Tonight was a fantastic occasion and an opportunity to recognise another fantastic season for the Liverpool Ladies.
“It is brilliant to see the likes of Ian Ayre and Natalie Wignall at tonight’s event which really highlights the one club mentality in place at Liverpool Football Club.”
