Europe’s No 1 sports nutrition company, Atlantic Multipower has extended its association with cycling for 2014, announcing an exciting new partnership with Movistar Pro Cycling Team and renewing its sponsorship of Cannondale Pro Cycling for the sixth consecutive year.
In addition, Multipower Sportsfood will remain the Official Sports Nutrition Partner for the Giro d’Italia in 2014 and 2015.
Cannondale Pro Cycling and Movistar Pro Cycling Teams both enjoyed considerable success in 2013 and will be fuelled with high performance and recovery sports nutrition products to help boost their 2014 results.
The Movistar team became UCI World Champions in 2013 and boast no less than four national champions and ten race winning riders including Colombian Nairo Quintana who finished runner up in the Tour de France and Alejandro Valverde who finished third in the Vuelta a Espana last year.
2014 marks the team’s 35th anniversary, and led by Quintana, will be participating in this year’s three Grand Tours, the Giro d’Italia (9 May – 1 June), the Tour de France (5 July – 27 July) and the Vuelta a Espana (23 August- 14 September).
In 2013, Cannondale Pro Cycling’s leading rider Peter Sagan took 22 of the team’s impressive 36 victories, in addition to securing the two in a row coveted Green Jersey in the Tour de France. The talented Slovakian has already secured his first victory of the season for Cannondale in 2014, after taking the win on stage four of the Tour of Oman.
