Nick Johnson, Partner and Head of Advertising and Sponsorship Law at international legal practice Osborne Clarke, has been re-appointed to the Board of the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) for a further year.
Johnson’s appointment fills a casual vacancy caused by the resignation of a Board member, and has effect until the Association’s next Annual General Meeting. He will continue during his tenure to help guide the Association on governance and regulatory issues, and to support William Fenton and the Board on policy matters.
Commenting on the re-appointment Karen Earl, ESA Chairman, outlined why Johnson’s continued service to ESA was so valuable “There are very few people within the sponsorship industry who have the required depth of legal knowledge that Nick has, or the ability to convey it so succinctly. His expertise, and his diligence and commitment to ESA, is why the Board is very happy that Nick has agreed to stay on for a further year.”
As well as legal issues that surround the areas of sponsorship and engagement marketing, Johnson is also recognised for his expertise in data privacy and online regulatory law. He will continue to work closely with the rest of the Board to ensure that the best interests of ESA and its members are represented.
